How to Get Your Local Business Listed in ALL Local Search Results.
There are thousands of companies that will offer you "Local SEO" services for a monthly maintenance fee, but you don't need their help or their ongoing fees!
If you want to get listed on all of the local search listings like Google Maps, Online Yellow Pages, Superpages, Bing Local, Yahoo Local, etc., you only need to list your website in the right places.
Here's what I do; the first thing is to decide what I'm selling. What I'm selling needs to be in my business title in the local listing. In my case it is "BATCAVE-productions Search Engine Optimization - Proven SEO" because it is my company name and the rest is what I do. Including what you do or what you sell is extremely important in your local listing business title.
The next thing you want to do is be found on Google Maps, Yahoo Local, Bing Local, Superpages and any other online Yellow Pages or Local Directories.
You might wonder, if Google dominates in search volume why bother with all of the others. The others do have traffic, and most importantly, Google actually uses the others as a basis of determining the organic and local ranking of your website and local listing. Being on all of the others improves your Google rank.
I'm going to give you a great shortcut that will save you a ton of time adding your site and business information to hundreds of local listing venues, but you'll also want the more immediate results of submitting directly to Google Maps, Bing Local and Yahoo Local.
With all of these, make absolutely sure to fill out all of the available areas completely. Completely fill in every relevant category, every brand you carry, etc.
- Add your business to Google Maps: http://www.google.com/local/add/analyticsSplashPage?gl=US&hl=en-US
- Add your business to Bing Local: https://ssl.bing.com/listings/ListingCenter.aspx
- Add your business to Yahoo Local: http://listings.local.yahoo.com/csubmit/index.php
And here's the best free tip you'll ever get from an SEO company: InfoUSA supplies data to every substantial local search, yellow pages and local directory in existence including Google Maps, Bing Local and Yahoo Local. Adding your site to InfoUSA will get your site listed in hundreds of local search engines and directories in addition to enhancing your credibility to Google, Bing and Yahoo. You could, in fact, add your site in this one place alone and it would eventually be listed in all of the others, but why wait for 60 days or more when Google, Bing and Yahoo will take your submission directly?

This is not a paid endorsement. I will not receive any compensation for this advice in any way. I may lose some small customers that only need some help with local search engine optimization, but then again, if I've helped your company grow, you might just grow enough to hire me for a larger project in the future and at least I'll be helping your business survive the recession.
